Knitting, project #152. Completed 2/25/2008.

Worn brim-up

Worn like a beanie

Yarn: 1 skein Noro (100% wool), 109 yds
Needles: US 8 (5 mm) double-pointed needles
Gauge: Not important, but this gauge was 4 to 5 sts per inch / 6 rows per inch
Pattern: Adapted from Kristin Spurkland, The Knitting Man(ual), and Edith’s Hat
Finished size    Adult XL (one size fits most). Almost every Noro hat pattern for adult women and teens goes to 90 sts (20 inches around).

Leftover yarn: 0.3 oz (6 g)
Approximate cost: Kureyon, $8.50/skein from Webs
Notes: Divide yarn for Noro Striping Technique as Spurkland instructs. Work hat in stripe pattern: Work 3 rounds from ball 1 and then 3 rounds from ball 2. Do not cut yarn after each change; instead, carry the yarn not in use up the inside of the hat.
