Crochet, project 184. Completed 1/11/2009
2 skeins bulky yarn — Ironstone Yarns – Colorchanges (53% Wool, 47% Acrylic), 100 yds / 50 g. Color: 760 (Purple).
Manufacturer’s Yarn gauge: 10 sts = 3″ on #11 needle
Hooks: J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook and K-10.5 (6.5 mm) crochet hook
Gauge: Not important
Pattern: By http://minglingyarn.blogspot.com/2007/09/could-it-be-any-easier-neck-cozy.html
Finished size: 4.5″ wide x 28″ long
Leftover yarn: 38 yds total (19 yds from each ball).
Used 162 yds total (81 yds from each ball of yarn held double).
Approximate cost: $7.59 per ball for two balls plus buttons
Notes: Hold yarn double throughout (I wound two balls of yarn into one).
Scarf is worked in Woven Stitch over an even number of stitches.
I found two problems with the pattern as written: With 92 sts, you have to work sc2TOG in last 2 sts to make pattern work. Try 93 instead. And a Row 13 is needed to make the scarf symmetrical.
