Knitting, project 202. Completed 11/3/2009
The “Ribbed Baby Hat” with wider ribs, a la the “Boyfriend Hat” pattern that I love so much, instead of K1P1 ribbing. Also a great way to use up 1 oz of worsted yarn.
Adapted from Ribbed Baby Hat by Sarah E. White on about.com
Newborn. Unstretched size is about 12.5 inches, will stretch to fit up to 15-inch head (newborn).
Yarn: 60 yards (just over 1 oz) worsted yarn for newborn size
1 oz (about 57.1 yds) leftover from 1 skein Plymouth Encore Worsted (75% acrylic, 25% wool), 200 yd per 100 g/3.5 oz skein. Color: 7138 (pink fade)
Knitting Needles: US G-7 (4.5 mm) double-pointed needles
22 stitches and 24 rows per 4 inches in Single Rib
5.5 stitches and 6 rows per inch
Changed pattern to avoid single ribbing (K1, P1) by using (K3, P1) ribbing instead
