18-inch circumference – Adult M

Yarn: 105 yds worsted weight yarn (Weight Category: 4 –  Medium) per hat:
1.8 oz (about 103 yds) leftover from 1 skein Plymouth Encore Worsted (75% acrylic, 25% wool), 200 yd per 100 g/3.5 oz skein. Color: 7138 (pink fade)

Crochet Hook: G-7 (4.5 mm) hook

Not important; goes by crown diameter

Started with two crochet patterns for beanies, combined the patterns, and made lots of changes: I changed the yarn brand, weight, and color; the pattern gauge; the direction the hat is worked; the round joining methodology; and the hat shape from beanie to beret. I reworked it to be top down; the original pattern started with “Ch 90 and work in sc” (gauge likely 4.5 sc per inch / 20 inch hat, but not stated). I also worked in a spiral without joining each round to eliminate the seam, instead of working in rounds that are joined.
–    Increase (inc) = work 2 stitches in same stitch
–    Decrease (dec) = sc next two stitches together
