Knitting, project 277. Completed 10/25/2010
Pattern purchased on Ravelry from Nina Machlin Dayton (you can see the official pattern photo in her blog post)
Adult Medium, 19-inch head
Gauge: 5 sts per inch for the most part (with the handspun yarn I used, it could be 6 sts per inch in places)
Yarn: 1.7 oz, 116.6 yds worsted weight yarn
- 1 ball Solitude Wool by Suffolk & Dorset (70% Wool, 30% Nylon). 3.5 oz / 99 g. 240 yds. Color Study (Rust).
Knitting Needles: US Size 7 (4.5 mm) in both 16″ long circular needles and set of 5 double pointed needles (DPNs).
Hat made with yarn given to me by my dear friend Anne for Christmas 2009.
Using a multiple of 8 sts makes a flatter top.
Worked until 144 sts on the needles. For a Large hat at the 5 sts gauge, you need 160 sts.
