Place 1 cup raw almonds in a bowl. Cover with water and soak overnight.
The next morning, drain and rinse the almonds.
Place the soaked almonds and 3 cups of water to the Vitamix container. Secure the lid.
Turn the machine on to Variable speed 1 and slowly increase to speed 10. Turn the machine to High.
Blend for about 45 seconds or until desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately.
Homemade almond milk stores for a few days in the fridge. I used a mason jar with a lid. Shake well before serving.
Small batch version for green smoothies: Soak 1/4 cup almonds overnight. Blend with 1 cup water. Do not drain. Add remaining smoothie ingredients to the blender and continue with the smoothie recipe.

NOTE: This recipe has been written for the Vitamix 5200 with Standard 64-ounce container. If you are using a different machine, you may need to make adjustments to the speed or processing time. Know your blender and don’t overload the machine.
